Here is some info for you about a few group exhibitions my work is included in that you might be interested to check out…
Inking Up
29 August – 18 October 2015
14 Lyttleton Street, Castlemaine VIC 3450 Australia
Inking up presents the work of three linocut printmakers: Rona Green, Deborah Klein and Clayton Tremlett (curator) at Castlemaine Art Gallery & Historical Museum.
Inking up is a slang term for getting a tattoo and also the printmaking process of inking a block in preparation for printing onto paper. Both techniques require bold outlines; one using a needle to embed ink under the skin, the other requiring tools to carve out areas that will not catch the ink.
Inking up poses the questions: Why do people get images tattooed on their body? Why do we define ourselves with statements which give an impression of who we are via symbols?
Auditory Visions
12 September – 24 October 2015
131 Molesworth Street, Lismore NSW 2480 Australia
A group exhibition of prints by G W Bot, Jan Davis, Rona Green, Alexi Keywan, Bruce Latimer, Travis Paterson and Michael Schlitz, and soundscapes by Jay-Dea Lopez (curator).
Auditory Visions is an exhibition where sound and vision meet. Seven printmakers were asked to create two pieces of work with the knowledge that it would be given an auditory companion composed by Jay-Dea Lopez in response to the images. Thus the visual work in Auditory Visions was created with the hum of imagined sounds within the artists’ minds.
You can click here to visit the Auditory Visions website, where you can view all of the artists prints and listen to the accompanying soundscapes by Jay-Dea Lopez that comprise this wonderful show.
